Frequently asked questions

Does the outsourced officer replace management?

No. Management remains responsible for approval, oversight and resource allocation. The outsourced officer provides coordination, monitoring and documentation so that management can meet its obligations in an organised, verifiable way.

How soon must the officer be appointed?

Within 30 days of the DNSC identification and registration decision being communicated, under Art. 14(3) of Emergency Ordinance 155/2024.

What extra conditions apply to essential entities?

With the legal exceptions (public administration, micro and small enterprises), the officer has managerial authority, reports directly to management, is independent from IT and OT, has access to resources and completes a DNSC-recognised accredited course within 12 months of appointment.

What does it cost and how long does it run?

The service starts at EUR 800 per month, on a contract of at least 12 months with monthly billing. The final price is set after the scoping assessment.

How is it different from consulting?

Consulting builds the compliance system in a fixed-term project. The outsourced officer keeps it working afterwards. The two services can be combined.

The same teams that write the compliance documentation also run the technical testing, incident analysis and training. The preliminary scoping discussion is free, and if your organisation is not in scope for NIS2, we will tell you directly.

Legal obligations follow Emergency Ordinance 155/2024 in its consolidated form, approved by Law 124/2025, and DNSC Order 1/2026, checked on 26 October 2026. Prices are starting points; the final offer follows the scoping assessment.

For information only. Check the consolidated legal texts and the current version of the DNSC tools before any submission. The Romanian version prevails.
